Emos aims to award Farfana contract by year end

SANTIAGO-BASED water utility Emos aims to award the design build contract for the La Farfana WwTP in December this year or January 2001, for an estimated investment of $300 million. Shortlisted companies were due to be named as GWI went to press.

The contract includes the engineering design, supply and installation of equipment as well as construction and operation for one year. The plant will serve 3.2 million inhabitants, or 60% of Santiago’s population. La Farfana is the largest of three WwTPs planned by Emos and will be built in Maipu, western Santiago.
