Sanesul to consider restructuring

MATO GROSSO DO SUL state water company Sanesul will enter the final phase of restructuring and begin considering new operational models this month. One option would be to search for a private partner to help finance projects already being developed by the company.

Sanesul and other companies are redistributing water and sewerage operations in the Brazilian state following recent privatisations. The Spanish Guararioba consortium has taken over the operation of a 30-year concession in the state capital of Campo Grande, which accounted for 44% of Sanesul’s total revenues. As a result, Sanesul is running at a serious monthly operating deficit.
