BRAZIL’S SÃO FRANCISCO water transfer project took a step forward last month when National Integration minister Fernando Bezerra signed a decree setting up a special purpose management committee.
The decree (Portaria 179/MIN) establishes a team composed of ministry representatives as well as members of the São Francisco and Parnaiba Valley Development Company (Codevasf) and the National
Department for Works against Droughts (DNOCS).
