A national environment congress has raised the profile of water consumption in Spain. The current trends are worryingly unsustainable.
Spain will have to find an extra 22% of its 2001 water resource capacity by 2015 in order to satisfy projected demand, the ninth bi-annual National Environment Congress heard in December.
