Q3 results fail to boost water stocks

The ongoing effects of the economic downturn – and a wet summer – took their toll on many companies’ thirdquarter results. Despite an impressive performance from China, the GWI Global Water Index was flat on the month.

The GWI Global Water Index was largely unchanged last month, as even an impressive performance from the three big Chinese water stocks failed to catapult it into positive territory.

The prospect of ongoing tariff rises helped all three to outperform the Shanghai Composite Index, which broke through the psychological 3,000 barrier to end the period up 9.2%.
