* Moody’s has downgraded the rating of Italian water operator Acquedotto Pugliese (AQP) to Baa3, mirroring a similar move by Standard & Poor’s last month.

Part of the reason is the fact that AQP is heavily invested in bonds issued by beleagured carmakers GM and Ford. The rating remains on review for possible downgrade.

* Severn Trent has announced the appointment of its principal contractors for AMP5, a year ahead of schedule. The 11 companies are Balfour Beatty, Barhale Construction, Biwater Treatment Ltd, Costain, Enterprise, Interserve ...
