Banobras sees boomtime for investment

Despite the financial crisis, Mexican state development bank Banobras says it is still boomtime for water infrastructure. Mark Walsh finds out how it aims to keep the money flowing.

In August 2007, the first package of concessions to operate highways in Mexico fetched more than $4 billion, far exceeding the Mexican government’s estimates.

By contrast, the Mexican government had to abandon the sale of the second bundle of highways earlier this month after the bids failed to meet the minimum return value stipulated in the bidding rules.
