Mekorot boosts bond supply

The Israeli bulk water supplier has funded most of its 2009 investment programme via a new bond. Scarcity value underpinned the demand.

Mekorot National Water Company has placed a NIS 650 million ($155 million) two-part bond issue on the local market. The company had originally planned to raise NIS 300 million, but decided to increase the offering on the back of more than NIS 1 billion in demand.
