* One of the first announcements to come out of the World Water Forum in Istanbul was from IBM, which unveiled a portfolio of smart water services and technologies, including a new fluorine-based membrane.
Developed in collaboration with the King Abdul Aziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) in Saudi Arabia, the membrane is allegedly suitable both for arsenic removal and water desalination, whilst also being resistant to chlorine damage. A case of “too blue to be true”?
