* The Gulf’s leading power and water developers, speaking at MEED’s Arabian Power and Water Summit 2009, offered their thoughts on how shifting EPC prices might affect the market.
Some suggested that a depressed EPC market is likely to lead to lower tariffs than at the beginning of 2008, when much lower credit spreads were on offer for project financing. The emergence of Chinese players in the EPC market was also highlighted as a factor likely to bring EPC prices down in the short to medium term.
