Egypt is looking to meet the rising water demand from tourism without the help of the Nile. Reuse is also on the agenda.
Plans put forward by Egypt's Holding Company for Water and Wastewater (HCWW) envisage approximately 100,000m3/d of new desalination capacity on the country's Red Sea coast within the next five years. Areas in Sinai, including Sharm El Sheikh, are also slated for new desalination capacity.
