GE drops out of the race for Soreq

GE has pulled out of Israel’s largest desalination project, which is struggling to attract financing. However, interest remains strong from bidders, with Siemens set to enter the fray.
GE has confirmed that it has pulled out of a consortium which had been expected to bid for the 411,000m3/d desalination plant at Soreq. The group had been partnered with Israel’s Housing and Construction Holding Company, which is now seeking a new partner.
