Revised contract for Jumeirah Golf Estates WWTP

Construction of the downsized wastewater plant will resume under a restructured agreement, with an extended O&M contract for the French-Belgian consortium and a commitment to finalise financing by early 2010.

The planned capacity of the Jumeirah Golf Estates wastewater treatment plant in Dubai has been permanently reduced to 110,000m3/d, 50% of the original figure. The restructured contract was agreed in mid-May between the project consortium, consisting of Besix and Suez Environnement through its subsidiary Degrémont, and the client Nakheel.
