It has taken a certain determination to get this far. Not everyone has stayed with it.
Poseidon was formed by energy entrepreneur Jacek Makowski and two refugees from GE Capital, Walt Howard, and Walt Winrow, in 1995 with the support of venture capital backing from Warburg Pincus. During the late 1990s it developed string of industrial wastewater projects in Mexico, before moving into desalination in the US.
