Ensuring security of supply for Istanbul’s water users doesn’t come cheap.
Istanbul's Water and Sewerage Administration (ISKI) is proposing to raise tariffs in the city by an average of 8.5% in order to cover increased electricity costs, which have risen dramatically since the Melen water transfer project came online.
The move was ratified on 16 July by the Metropolitan Council, which voted against a similar proposal in November 2008 ...
