The proposed dimensions of the first phase of the Red-Dead canal project have raised eyebrows in Israel.
A $1 billion project to test the feasibility of the Red-Dead water conveyance scheme was announced on 27 June following talks between Israel's vice premier Silvan Shalom and World Bank president Robert Zoellick.
