The king of wastewater treatment plants

Billed as the largest wastewater treatment plant in the world, Mexico’s new Atotonilco facility will have a profound impact on the local economy in more ways than one. Mark Walsh reports.

A consortium including Mexican construction companies ICA and IDEAL, Mitsui subsidiary Atlatec and Spanish firm Acciona Agua signed contracts with Mexico’s national water commission on 7th January for the design, construction and operation of the Atotonilco wastewater treatment plant.
