LOOKING TO CHINA

* Aqualyng has recovered from a neardeath experience during 2009, when project delays coincided with the disappearance of refinancing options to create losses of nearly $12 mllion on revenues of $479,000 in the 12 months ending 30 September.

Chairman Bernt Østhus says the company is now hiring staff again after a $24 million refinancing (see story p22).

* The first project to emerge from Aqualyng’s 2009 train crash will be the 50,000m3/d Caofeidian plant in China. The company is also optimistic about follow-on opportunties in China.
