Report reveals Israel’s crisis of confidence

A damning new report has laid the blame for Israel’s water crisis at the feet of the Water Authority and a trio of government ministries. Who will bankroll Mekorot’s proposed solution?

In a report published in late March, the committee investigating Israel’s water crisis blamed the country’s current water shortage on mismanagement and delays by government ministries and agencies.

“The Israeli water economy is in severe crisis caused entirely by bad management,” said former judge Dan Bein, who headed the three-member government-appointed committee.
