Two new deals underscore the potential for generating energy from solar panels located on static water bodies. It could be an important new revenue source for water utilities.
Israeli bulk water supplier Mekorot plans to deploy a 50-200 KW concentrated photovoltaic electricity generation system designed to float on water at its Taoz reservoir later this year, and expects to sign an agreement with Israeli start-up Solaris Synergy within the next few weeks.
