End of an era for Thames Water

The termination of Thames Water’s contract in Puerto Rico will mark an inauspicious end to the company’s once-strong international empire.


The Puerto Rico Aqueduct and Sewer Authority (PRASA) has signalled its intention to take over Thames Water’s contract in Puerto Rico, which would bring to an end Thames’ involvement in the international water market. The current contract is valid until 2013, but can be terminated unilaterally by PRASA on or around September 2011.
