French antitrust probe takes a new twist

Lyonnaise des Eaux has been left red-faced after the European Commission launched a separate investigation connected with the ongoing antitrust probe into French private water operators.


The European Commission’s investigation into suspected anticompetitive practices by French private water operators was given added spice recently when one of the firms involved, Suez Environnement, was accused of breaking into a sealed room following a dawn raid by inspectors in April.
