Aqualyng stays the course in China

As financial close nears on the Caofeidian project, Kathy Liu looks at how project finance for desalination projects is gaining a foothold in China.


Norwegian desalter Aqualyng is on course to close the long-awaited financing deal for the Caofeidian desalination plant by mid-August, according to CEO Brynjulf Lomsdalen. In partnership with Beijing Enterprises Water Group (BEWG), the company is developing a 50,000m3/d SWRO plant in the Tangshan Caofeidian Industrial Development Zone on a 30-year BOT basis.
