Spain’s new municipal model

The mixed management model has doubled its share of the Spanish water market, according to new data from industry body AEAS. The state of sewerage networks, meanwhile, has declined alarmingly.
The latest national survey of municipal water supply and wastewater treatment carried out by Spanish industry association AEAS shows growth in mixed public-private sector management, with this model doubling its market share to 13% between 2006 and 2008.
