This summer’s droughts and floods have been in all the wrong places for desalters.

The dry conditions in Southern Russia and Ukraine are of little use to desalinationa companies (they are too far from the sea, and there is no threat to urban water supplies), whereas droughts in California and Australia’s Murray-Darling Basin are effectively over.
