City of Sydney looks to profit from competition

The city’s plans to reduce its reliance on Sydney Water have taken a step forward. It is a further boost for water competition in Australia, argues Max Borchardt.

Following the 7th September deadline, the City of Sydney is understood to have had a strong response to its tender to design and implement a decentralised water master plan. Planning is scheduled to get underway by the end of the year for the initiative, which includes plans for a city-wide recycled water network.
