Nuclear plans push Abu Dhabi towards RO

The Emirate has historically been one of the strongest supporters of thermal desalination. Changing priorities in power will mean it will be looking to reverse osmosis for its future desalination needs.

The Abu Dhabi Water & Electricity Authority – the body responsible for planning and procuring the Emirate’s string of successful large-scale water and power projects – is planning to commit to reverse osmosis for its long-term desalination needs, senior sources have confirmed to GWI.
