Veolia’s plans to restructure its way out of trouble were largely met with indifference by the investor community earlier this month.

Despite a sweeping array of proposals aimed at cutting debt and moving towards a more centralised management structure, investors seem unwilling to give CEO Antoine Frérot the benefit of the doubt – at least for now (see story p8).
