EBRD lending focus shifts to wastewater

The EBRD enjoyed a record year in terms of water lending in 2010. What were the major trends informing its investment decisions?

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development committed a record €192.5 million of debt funding to the water and wastewater sector in 2010, as the cumulative value of the bank’s historical investment in the sector climbed to €2.2 billion – fully half of its total municipal and environmental infrastructure portfolio.
