The EBRD has a long history of lending to Romania. Now, it is proposing to make its largest ever commitment to facilitate the development of the country’s water sector.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is hoping to mobilise around €1.5 billion of European Union funding, in order to bring the Romanian water and wastewater sector into compliance with EU Directives.
