Aguas Andinas share sale raises $980m

Chile has divested the first of four packets of shares in its water utilities.

 The Chilean government raised $980 million from the sale of a 30% stake in the country’s largest water utility Aguas Andinas on 15 June. BanChile, IMTrust and Merrill Lynch led the offering, which is designed to part-fund the country’s reconstruction efforts following the 2010 earthquake.
