Bordeaux to vote on re-municipalisation

Bordeaux could become the latest French municipality to take the operation of its water and wastewater assets back in-house. Terminating the drinking water contract early may prove expensive.
The Bordeaux Metropolitan Council (CUB) has decided to return water and sewerage services to public control before the end of the decade, thus ending long-standing links with Lyonnaise des Eaux (LdE). The proposals will be put to the vote on 8th July.
