UK water companies feel the pinch

The tougher price limits imposed during the first year of the new regulatory cycle have hit UK water and sewerage companies’ profits hard. Things may get worse before they get better.
Most of the listed UK water and sewerage companies failed to maintain profits in 2010/11, as the first year of the tougher pricing regime that will apply up to 2015 took a predictable toll on full-year figures.
