GWI Americas Index rises to all-time high

Pure-play desalination stocks ERI and Consolidated Water jumped this month as GWI’s revised desal forecast lifted some of the sector’s gloom. The move helped the Americas segment of the index to rise to an all-time high.
The GWI Global Water Index narrowly underperformed the benchmark MSCI World Index this month, posting a 3.9% gain, against a 4.1% rise. The Americas segment of our index, however, comfortably outperformed the Dow Jones Industrial Average, rising to a value of 117 – its highest value since the index was established in June 2008.
