A new EPC contract to expand the massive wastewater treatment plant outside Cairo could represent the best chance of progress while Egypt’s privatisation process remains stuck in the mud.
The African Development Bank (AfDB) has issued a general procurement notice calling for EPC contractors to show interest in the next stage of the Gabal El Asfar WWTP in Egypt – a shot in the arm for the country’s wastewater development as its privatisation programme continues to stagnate.
