The acquisition of Norit’s Clean Process Technologies group by Pentair has not translated into immediate stock market success, as the shares underwent a significant sell-off this month, sparked by a drop in earnings predictions for the third quarter.

 In order to woo investors back into the fold, Pentair will have to show that it can realise its global growth ambitions in developing markets. The acquisition of Norit – the global leader in the low-pressure membrane market – will certainly help this. What remains to be seen is whether Pentair’s new acquisition can make a dent in the US market ...
