IFC takes stake in Brazilian concession holder

THE INTERNATIONAL FINANCE CORPORATION (IFC), the World Bank’s equities arm, took a $30 million, 16% stake in AG Concessoes last month in order to capitalise the company.

AG Concessoes, part of the Brazilian construction firm, Andrade Gutierrez, has stakes in a number of public service concessions, notably in Sanepar, the Parana state water company, where it partners Vivendi.
