Mekorot restructure approved

THE ISRAELI GOVERNMENT has reached an agreement with Mekorot which will allow the company to restructure and enter joint ventures with private partners (see GWI, Vol. 1, Issue 1, p.1).
As part of the plan, which has been approved by Mekorot’s board of directors, the company will be split into five business units under full control of Mekorot Holdings. The new subsidiaries are Mekorot National Water Carrier, Mekorot Assets, Mekorot Water Company, Mekorot Initiatives & Development and Mekorot Joint Ventures.
