Enel tables Southern Water bid

ITALIAN ELECTRICITY GROUP ENEL has confirmed that it has made a non-binding offer – believed to be worth £800 million (€1.3 billion) – for Southern Water.
Southern distributes potable water to over two million people and treats wastewater from over four million in the counties of Kent, East and West Sussex, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight in the south east of England. Southern Water’s parent company, Scottish Power, has declined to comment.
