UK water shows slight improvement

The UK water industry showed some signs of improvement last month despite a lacklustre series of earnings reports. For the second month in a row, the FTSE water index outperformed wider market averages.

Although it started slowly, the water index finished the month up 3%, while the FTSE 100 dropped 2.7%. With the exception of Pennon Group, all the UK water companies posted positive gains.
