German funds for Polish STP

THE GERMAN ENVIRONMENT MINISTRY has announced that it will provide support of €3.84 million for construction of a new sewage treatment plant in the Polish town of Szprotawa.

The funds will be divided into a grant of €1.664 million and the interest of €1.419 million saved on a soft loan of €6 million.

The plant will comply with EU standards and improve the water quality of the River Oder, which flows into the Baltic Sea, the ministry said.
