Saudis announce new water ministry

Saudi Arabia is to set up a separate ministry to manage its water resources and to facilitate private investment in the sector. The new Ministry of Water Affairs will be split from the current Ministry of Agriculture and Water.
The ministry will be comprised of all water-related departments at the Ministry of Agriculture and Water, the Ministry of Urban and Rural Affairs, the water sector of Ayn Al-Aziziyah which supplies groundwater to Jeddah, and all sewerage and sanitation departments.
