Sir – I enjoy your periodical, but I have to take issue with your characterisation of the recent New Orleans Sewer & Water Board vote to reject all bids as a “stark message” regarding privatisation in the US (see GWI, Vol. 3, Issue 11, p.28).
The reality is that this is New Orleans politics as usual and is more an affirmation that the politics of these projects is local and as such may not have anything to do with what is “right” for citizens or have anything to do with a larger scale national trend.
