Rand Water profits boost

Costs have dropped and tariffs are up.

South African bulk water supplier Rand Water has posted profits of R193 million (c. $21 million) for the 2001/02 financial year, a staggering 131% increase. Turnover was up just 14% at R2.5 billion (c. $270 million) for the same period and the sharp rise follows several years of falling profits.
