A transaction could be ready within two years following the state company’s efforts to improve efficiency.
Uganda’s National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) remains on target for privatisation in 2004. Exact details of how the private sector will be involved are not known, but a lease contract for NWSC’s operations and a management contract for smaller town systems seems the most likely prospect.
