Africa: performance indicators and benchmarking study

A number of African water utilities have taken part in a performance indicators and benchmarking exercise, with the aim of making the information available to utility managers, government policy makers, regulatory agencies, NGOs and financial institutions.

The project – SPBNET.Africa 2001 – has been led by the Water Utility Partnership for Capacity Building in Africa (WUP) and overseen by a Quality Assurance Committee consisting of WUP, the World Bank, a utility regulator, the Union of African Water Suppliers, International Water Association, and the UK’s Department for International Development (DFID).
