A word from the Editor

We start this month with some good news from Nigeria. After several false starts, Lagos state appears ready to put out the tender documents for two concession contracts. The concessions will be for the Lagos East and Lagos West areas.

IFC first started reviewing PSP options for the Lagos state government in 1999 as part of a consortium which included Arthur Andersen, Gide Loyrette Nouel and Deloitte & Touche. The Lagos state government called for expressions of interest at the start of 2001 but since then there has been little progress to speak of.
