Avignon negotiates improved price

THE SOUTHERN FRENCH CITY OF AVIGNON has succeeded in negotiating a 13% reduction in its water tariff following a political controversy dating back over 15 years.
It was then that management of water services was assigned to the Générale des Eaux local subsidiary SAE. Marie-Josee Roig, the city’s Gaullist mayor, said the file was now closed with Avignon emerging from a period of confrontation to a period of more constructive partnership.
