Seven bidders for Saudi plant

A CONTRACT TO BUILD A NEW DESALINATION PLANT in the Saudi Arabian city of Jeddah has attracted bids from seven companies. The estimated $25 million scheme, for which the client is the local Kindasa Water Services, will have a capacity of 25,500m<sup>3</sup>/d.

It will form the second phase of the client’s private desalination project supplying the Jeddah industrial city and the Jeddah Islamic Port. The existing first phase has a capacity of 12,000m3/d and there are plans for a 25,000m3/d third phase.
