Welcome to the June issue of Global Water Intelligence. The last few months have been something of a mixed bag for international private water companies. A number of important transactions have come to market, several projects are nearing close, and contracts for big-ticket deals such as Puerto Rico and Pudong have been signed.
However, in the minus column the Poznan concession has been cancelled and the proposed sale of Paraguayan state water company, Corposana has been postponed indefinitely. The Poznan cancellation is especially disappointing and yet another example of how politicians can wreck a perfectly good transaction.
